This magical, fun-filled night features special guests including Emcee, Amanda Davis and keynote speaker, Laurie Dhue. Amanda is a reporter on CBS 46 Atlanta and Laurie Dhue is one of only three news anchors to have hosted shows on all three major cable news networks: CNN, MSNBC and Fox News Channel.

Attendees can enjoy a seated dinner and dance the night away or sit back and relax with live entertainment provided by Band X. Black tie attire will be required and masks are encouraged for the masquerade ball.

Proceeds of this event go towards the operation of the Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery research initiatives with a focus on recovery science as well as spread awareness to the community about the disease of addiction.

Every day the disease of addiction goes unnoticed to most of us. It is masked by the faces of individuals who function in society unnoticed until the disease has progressed, resulting in behavioral and physical consequences.  In addition, we as individuals are stunned at the sudden deaths, the broken relationships and the escalating cost to society. We are often surprised when the masks of our neighbors, our loved ones and our friends are removed - shattering the long held belief that addiction can never happen to “me.”

As one of the first collegiate recovery programs of its kind, and as a nationally recognized center at the forefront of addiction and recovery science research, the Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery (CYAAR) continues to transform and inform the national discourse around addiction and recovery for young adults.  The Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery provides a comprehensive approach to campus-wide recovery supports, coordination and options for students, staff and faculty interested in exploring the impact of alcohol and other drug use on their lives and the lives of others around them.
